1. Who We Are
RacketMaps ("we", "us", "our") operates the website racketmaps.com. We provide an interactive map to discover tennis, padel, and pickleball clubs worldwide.
2. Information We Collect
We collect minimal data to operate the service:
- Anonymous Fingerprints: A one-way SHA-256 hash derived from your IP address and user agent, used solely for rate limiting and abuse prevention. This hash cannot be reversed to identify you. See our Fingerprint Policy for details.
- User-Submitted Content: Reviews, photos, club suggestions, and corrections you submit voluntarily.
- Email Addresses: Only when you claim a club listing. Used solely for ownership verification.
- Analytics Data: We use PostHog (EU-hosted) to collect anonymised usage data such as page views, button clicks, and session duration. See Section 6 below.
- Device & Browser Data: Screen size, browser type, and language preference, collected by our analytics provider in anonymised form.
3. How We Use Your Data
- Display approved reviews, photos, and club information publicly on the map.
- Prevent spam and abuse via fingerprint-based rate limiting.
- Send verification emails for club ownership claims.
- Understand how the service is used and improve it through anonymised analytics.
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. Legal Basis (GDPR Article 6)
- Legitimate Interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): Fingerprinting for abuse prevention; analytics for service improvement.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): Where you voluntarily submit content (reviews, photos, suggestions).
- Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): Processing email for club ownership verification.
5. Data Sharing & Sub-Processors
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. Data may be processed by:
- Supabase (database hosting) — EU/US
- Vercel (application hosting) — Global edge
- MapTiler (map tiles) — EU
- PostHog (analytics) — EU (eu.posthog.com)
- Resend (email delivery) — US
All sub-processors are bound by data processing agreements. We do not transfer data outside the EU/EEA without adequate safeguards.
6. Cookies & Analytics
RacketMaps uses the following cookies and tracking technologies:

We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. PostHog is self-hosted in the EU and configured to anonymise data. You can opt out of analytics by enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser.
7. Data Retention
- Published content (reviews, photos): retained while published; deleted within 30 days of removal.
- Rejected submissions: deleted within 30 days.
- Fingerprint hashes: retained alongside the associated content; cannot be reversed.
- Analytics data: retained for 12 months, then automatically purged.
- Email addresses: retained while the club claim is active; deleted upon request.
8. Your Rights
Under GDPR and applicable privacy laws, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of all data linked to your fingerprint or email.
- Rectification — correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure — request deletion of your submitted content.
- Restriction — limit how we process your data.
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest.
To exercise any right, email privacy@racketmaps.com. We respond within 30 days.
9. Children's Privacy
RacketMaps is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a child has submitted content, contact us and we will remove it promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page with an updated date. Continued use of RacketMaps after changes constitutes acceptance.
